Digitisation and filming

“Digitisation preserves the original”

Reducing the direct use of the originals by creating media for use and replacement is one of the most important conservation measures.

The best opportunity to make digital copies or film recordings is during restoration, when dirt has already been removed and staples have been loosened.

Production of user and replacement media as a preservation measure, filming/digitisation during the restoration process

  • Digitisation or filming during restoration
  • Production of user and replacement media in connection with restoration work following fire and water damage or after deacidification
  • Digitisation or filming of severely damaged objects
  • Production of facsimiles for exhibitions
  • Restoration/conservation
