Transfer / conservation of file material

During the compilation of a file or during its use, materials such as paper clips, transparent films are often added to a file, which can then damage the archival or library material over time through oxidation, decomposition, outgassing or migration. We provide:

  • Salvaging, packing and transporting the objects away
  • Cleaning the objects
  • Removing metal parts and plastic foils
  • Repackaging photographs or drawings in suitable protective packaging
  • Recopying those items not resistant to ageing (e.g., those on thermal paper)
  • Return transport and store in the stacks
