Transfer / conservation of file material
During the compilation of a file or during its use, materials such as paper clips, transparent films are often added to a file, which can then damage the archival or library material over time through oxidation, decomposition, outgassing or migration. We provide:
- Salvaging, packing and transporting the objects away
- Cleaning the objects
- Removing metal parts and plastic foils
- Repackaging photographs or drawings in suitable protective packaging
- Recopying those items not resistant to ageing (e.g., those on thermal paper)
- Return transport and store in the stacks
